An inflatable mattress of air-tight plastic has a top 1, a similar bottom sides 2 and ends 3 and is divided interiorly by webs 5 into compartments 4 each provided with air tubes 6, 6a so that each compartment may be separately inflated or deflated by means of a compressor or pump (not shown). The inflation or deflation is controlled by a panel 8 having buttons 7, 7a which operate switches or which may be as in Fig. 5 screws for strangling or opening the tubes 6, 6a in central box 9.
