Enclosed switch with cover switch and connector interlocking means

A switched connector is mounted in a box, Fig. 1 (not shown), which has an openable cover (16) interlocked with the switch mechanism so that the cover cannot be removed while the switch is in the closed position, and also a removable connector which cannot be inserted or removed while the switch is closed. The switch mechanism operates a lever 24 which moves a pin 50 transversely of the direction of insertion of the plug, the shroud 42 of which has an aperture which in the fully inserted position of the plug is in alignment with the pin 50 which on closure of the switch is moved inwardly to engage this aperture. On removal of the plug the socket may be closed by a spring-loaded shutter (38), (Fig. 2, not shown).
