Molded bottle caps with integral valve structure

A container cap has a skirt 14, and an elastomeric diaphragm 15 surrounding an opening 16 and carrying valve-forming means 15c movable therewith to close the opening. In the relaxed condition of the diaphragm below the top of the skirt the valve is open. When the cap is screwed down (Fig. 5, not shown), engagement of the diaphragm and container neck causes the means 15c, in the form of bosses, to pinch closed the tube end 16c. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown) a cap, having a snip-off spout tip 26b, is secured to a container and is closed by pulling the spout to raise the diaphragm into a stable position.
