Zusammenfassung: | 1,016,713. Electric selective signalling. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. Inc. Aug. 9, 1962 [Aug. 22, 1961 (2)], No. 30515/62. Heading G4H. I In a circuit for testing capacitors and sorting them into pockets according to the value range into which they fall comprises a first data store receiving value signals and recoding them, a second store for receiving signals from the first, cyclic control means for initially allowing data to enter the first data-store and then to prevent further data entering, the cyclic means also serving to first prevent and then allow the stored data to pass from the first to a second store so that the data in the second store can be read out while further data enters the first store. The outputs from the seven decimal denominations of the counter are applied in a 4-bit code to the contacts of sixteen banks SW7A, SW7B &c., Figs. 2A, 2B, of a manually operable selector switch which selects four of the denominations (according to the expected values of the capacitors being tested). The corresponding sixteen signals are applied via contacts of control relay K20 and valves V1A-V8B to relays K1-K16 of the first storage means. Contacts of these relays are connected in four networks, Fig. 3, one for each of the four denominations, to give earth signals on the appropriate ones of four groups of ten leads representing the decimal digits. The highest denomination is connected via the contacts of two selector switch banks SW8A, SW8B to the network 41 of the second highest network. The banks are arranged to select adjacent digits and the arrangement is such that unless the highest digit corresponds to one of those digits no signal can pass to the network 41, i.e. the capacitor value is not in the coarse range set by the switch SW8. If the value does correspond an earth signal passes to the network 41 and, with the outputs from . networks 42 and 43, provides, by closure of control relay contacts K38A-K38D, thence decimal digits for application to a cross-bar switch, Fig. 4. This is a standard telephonetype switch giving an output on an appropriate one of 1000 sockets 62. Ten jacks J1-J10 are inserted in certain ones of these sockets to select ten ranges of values. The jacks are interconnected with switches SW21-SW30 and contacts of two relays K31, K32 one or the other of which will be energized according to which of the switch banks SW8A, SW8B has passed the highest valued digit. The switches are pressed or not to select the higher or lower of the two se |
