The mould oil release agent used in the moulding of objects from concrete, cementitious material, clay, mortar or building bricks comprises a hydrocarbon oil or an emulsion thereof in which a salt or amide of a mono- or dicarboxylic acid and of a polyamine is dissolved, which salt or amide has a hydrocarbon group containing at least 8 carbon atoms. The mould oil may for example be a solution in a spindle oil of a salt of technical tall oil acids.
