Zusammenfassung:	A process for disinfecting textiles comprises dipping them in or spraying them with a solution or suspension of the diester of pyrocarbonic acid or contacting them with the vapours of the diester mixed with another gas. Specified esters are the dialkyl esters, dicyclohexyl, diphenyl, dibenzyl, difurfuryl, 2, 3-dichlorophenyl ethyl and 3, 5-dichlorophenyl benzyl esters. The solutions or suspensions may contain surface active agents.ALSO:Disinfecting packaging materials and containers for foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics is by dipping in or spraying with a solution or suspension of a diester of pyrocarbonic acid or contacting them with the vapour of the diester mixed with another gas. Dialkyl, dicyclohexyl, diphenyl, difurfusyl, 2,3-dichlorophenyl ethyl and 3,5-dichlorophenyl benzyl esters are specified. Packaging foils, flasks, bottles and stoppers may be treated. The solutions or suspensions may contain surface active agents.
