Zusammenfassung:953,281. Photo-electric control of camera exposures; shutters. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Aug. 9, 1962, No. 30541/62. Heading G2A. A camera includes a disc 74 having an arcuate tapered opening 76 rotatable from an initial position in which the disc closes the camera objective 54, drive means for rotating the disc to align successively wider parts of the tapered opening with the objective, an abutment 56 disposed in accordance with the position of an indication member 20 of a photo-electric exposure meter to limit rotation of the disc, and means for returning the disc thereafter to the initial position. Preferably the disc also acts as a shutter, the exposure time being determined by the duration of alignment of the tapered opening and the objective. As shown the shutter driving means consists of a member 64 having a drive spring 66 which is moved into the cocked position shown by a knob 84 and held cocked by the camera release 22. On initially depressing the trigger 22 a spring-driven follower member 28 rotates anticlockwise until it engages the meter needle 20 and through gearing rotates clockwise the member 52 carrying the abutment 56 and also serving as a cover blade. On fully depressing the release, the tip 70 of the member 64 is moved downwardly and strikes the ear 72 on the disc 74 releasing its latch spring 82 from the fixed pin 78. When the ear 72 strikes the abutment 56 it rebounds to close the exposure aperture aided by a return spring 80 (Fig. 2 not shown). After freeing the release the shutter drive is reset to return the parts to the position shown the tip 70 sliding under the ear 72.
