Zusammenfassung:	788,827. Continuous-discharge mixing- machines. AMERICAN MACHINE & FOUNDRY CO. Dec. 29, 1955 [Feb. 21, 1955], No. 37225/55. Class 86 Mixing apparatus comprises a frusto-conical housing 10 in which is disposed a frustoconical screw member 22 having a pitch adjacent an inlet 11 greater than the pitch towards the delivery end 12 of the housing. The screw 22 is mounted on a rotary shaft 20 which also carries knives 24, 26 which are adapted to rotate adjacent stationary plates 28, 30 at the delivery end of the housing. Ports 16, 18 are provided through which liquid ingredients may be added to the mixture. The internal wall of the housing 10 is provided with alternating ridges 32 which may be longitudinal or helical. A tapering section 14 is fitted to the delivery end of the housing to provide back pressure within the housing to cause some back-flow between the ridges 32.
