Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A composition for treating textiles comprises a mineral oil, bodied sperm oil, a partial higher fatty alkyl phosphate, an amine and a non-ionic surface active agent wherein a polyalkylene oxide radical is attached to a higher fatty radical. The mineral oil may be a white oil having a paraffinic or naphthenic base. The alkyl phosphate may be a partial ester of phosphoric acid and a fatty alcohol containing from 8 to 18 carbon atoms or a mixture of such alcohols, which, or at least one of which mixture, contains a chain of at least 6 successive carbon atoms, the ester having an average of 1 to 2 alkyl radicals per phosphorus atom. Specified alcohols which may be esterified include n-decanol, n-octanol, 2 ethyl hexanol, octanol-2, di -isobutyl carbinol, 3, 5, 5- trimethyl hexanol, 2-n-butyl hexanol-1, 2-ethyl octanol-1, 2-n -butyl octanol-1, n-lauryl alcohol, undecanols and tridecanols. The amine, which forms a salt with the partial phosphate, may be dibutyl ethanolamine, triethanolamine, diethyl ethanolamine, diethanolamine, dicyclohexylamine, diethyl-cyclohexylamine or morpholine. The non-ionic surface active agent may be a polyalkylene oxide derivative of a long chain, i.e. having a straight or branched chain of 12 to 18 carbon atoms, fatty acid, alcohol or fatty acid amide and may be prepared by reacting the long chain fatty material with ethylene oxide, propylene oxide or polyethylene glycol. In the latter case the unreacted glycol is removed. Examples of the long chain fatty material include oleyl alcohol, lauryl alcohol, mixed sperm oil alcohols, oleic acid, lauric acid, coconut oil acids, oleylamide and lauramide. A mixture of non-ionic surface active agents may be used. The composition may be applied in an aqueous medium to continuous filaments as they emerge as a yarn from the spinning cabinet, to a tow prior to stapling, or to staple fibres prior to mechanical processing. The filaments may be of cellulose acetate, cellulose propionate, cellulose butyrate, cellulose acetate-propionate, cellulose acetate-butyrate, ethyl cellulose, benzyl cellulose, nylon, polyethylene terephthalate, polymers and copolymers of acrylonitrile or polymers or copolymers of vinylidene chloride.ALSO:A scourable lubricating composition for treating textiles comprises a mineral oil, bodied sperm oil, a partial higher fatty alkyl phosphate, an amine and a non-ionic surface active agent wherein a polyalkylene oxide radical is attached to a higher fatty radical.
