[Class 38(v)] The armature 21 of a flat-type relay is pivotally mounted on the core 13 by means of a leaf spring 18, Fig. 2, riveted both to the armature and to a plate 22 that is screwed down at 30 on to a raised portion 12 of the core. The sides of the spring 18 lie to the sides of the raised portion 12 so that, when the armature assumes the released position shown there is room between the parts 15, 22 for the spring to bend.
