Zusammenfassung:657,807. Switch cases. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. March 11, 1949, No. 6736. Convention date, April 23, 1948. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38(v)] In an electric switch such as an electromagnetic interrupter or ignition distributer in which arc discharges at the contacts produce corrosive nitrogen compounds, an oxidizing agent is provided within the casing to remove these compounds from the air within the casing. The agent is potassium permanganate, silver permanganate or a mixture thereof and may be encased in a porous container such as a tube of wire mesh. Alternatively a sheet or sheets of asbestos, glass fibre, felt or other porous material may be impregnated with the oxidizing agent, the sheet or sheets being secured to the inside of the casing by screws.
