Zusammenfassung: | 556,295. Axle-trucks. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G. Nov. 26, 1942, No. 16791. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1941. [Class 103 (vi)] A truck structure shown in plan Fig. 1 comprises two individual trucks 15, 16 each having two wheels 17, 18 in tandem and, as shown in the separate elevation Fig. 2 of the truck 16, each pivoted by a spring supported king-pin 14 to transverse sills 10 connected to a central longitudinal sill (not shown). Each of trucks 15, 16 comprises a pair of girders 19, 20 between which are mounted wheels 17, 18 on short axles running in axle-boxes 92 bolted in openings of the outer plates of the girders 19, 20 as shown in Fig. 5, the wheel axles constituting a transverse reinforcement between the girders ; transverse reinforcement plates 29 and 30 are also provided at positions between the wheels and the king-pin mounting, brake-levers 45 of disc brakes being pivotally mounted in ears on the plates. Fig. 7 shows in transverse section truck girders connected by the transverse plate 29 and a tierod 57 for maintaining trucks 15, 16 parallel, the rod 57 being connected to a link 54 journalled by a vertical pin 55 to a bracket at the lower edge of the outer girder of the truck. In order to equalise the movements of the trucks with respect to the vehicle body torsion rods 86 extending between the trucks are supported in bearings 87 on the sills 10 and are connected-by levers 85 to pivoted mountings on the trucks. |
