[Class 7(iii)] A fuel nozzle 13 for a downdraught carburetter is provided with a fuel spraying orifice 23 facing downstream of the air flow through the venturi 3, and a small air inlet orifice 24 facing against the air flow, whereby an enriched mixture is produced at low suction. The orifice 23 may face directly downstream or at an angle thereto. The carburetter includes a choke valve 2, and a slow running nozzle 16 fed through passages 14, 15, and the fuel flow through a metering orifice 12 to the main nozzle 13 is controlled by a needle valve 19 connected to the throttle valve 6 by a link 21.
