Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A highly dispersed complex potassium iron chromate having a limited solubility in water which is useful as an anticorrosive pigment is obtained by subjecting a readily water-soluble complex potassium iron chromate to heat and pressure in the presence of water. One to three parts by weight of water may be used, and the heat treatment may take place at 180-220 DEG C. in an autoclave for a period of 1-2 hours. The colour of the pigment may be varied by adding 3-5 per cent of sodium, manganese, zinc, or copper chloride to the chromate before the heat treatment. By using a chromate of the composition 7K2O. 6Fe2O3.20CrO3.12H2O as initial material a pigment of the composition 3K2O.11Fe2O3. 16Cr2O3.12H2O may be obtained.
