Zusammenfassung:	A method and a system are provided for determining road conditions. An example method includes emitting, by a transmitter of a light detection and ranging (lidar) system, a first laser beam having a first waveband and a second laser beam having a second waveband. The method further includes receiving, by a receiver of the lidar system, a first reflection of the first laser beam off a road surface and a second reflection of the second laser beam off the road surface. The method additionally includes detecting a presence of water, snow, or ice on the road surface based on an intensity of the first reflection and an intensity of the second reflection.
