Zusammenfassung:	An alternative is needed for replacing aqueous film forming foams (AFFF) containing fluorine. The ethyleneamine salt of a chemical precursor solution has been made that is a surfactant with both foaming properties and flame retardant properties. The chemical precursor solution is formed by reacting a complex alkyl compound with sulfuric or polyphosphoric acid. The resultant foam made with this surfactant is applied with a large footprint to overcome poor spreading coefficient and is successful in extinguishing fuel fires.
