A light emitting device (1) comprising at least one light source (2) adapted for, in operation, emitting light source light, a cavity (3) being diffusely reflective and comprising a light exit plane (6), the at least one light source (2) being arranged in the cavity (3), and at least two lamellae (41, 42) arranged extending from a position level with the light exit plane (6) and away from the cavity (3), the at least two lamellae (41, 42) being spaced apart by a spacing (9), wherein each of the at least two lamellae (41, 42) comprises a first major surface (411, 421) being specular reflective and extending in a direction being parallel with a center axis (A) of a main issue direction of light emitted by the light emitting device (1) and facing the spacing (9), and wherein at least one of the at least two lamellae (41, 42) comprises a first plurality of prismatic elements (51, 52) arranged on the first major surface (411, 421) such that at the first major surface (411, 421) light is reflected by the first plurality of prismatic elements.
