Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a mutant receptor-binding domain (mRBD) of a coronavirus (mRBD-CORONA) or a fragment thereof and mutant spike protein of the coronavirus (CORONA-mSpike) or a fragment thereof comprising the CORO-NA-mRBD or the fragment thereof. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a polypeptide or protein comprising the mRBD-CORONA or the fragment thereof or CORONA-mSpike or the fragment thereof and a nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding for the mRBD-CORONA or the fragment thereof or the CORONA-mSpike or the fragment thereof. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a vaccine composition comprising one or more CORONA-mRBDs or fragments thereof, one or more CORONA-mSpikes, one or more polypeptides or proteins and/or one or more nucleic acids according to the present invention. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the one or more CORONA-mRBDs or fragments thereof, the one or more CORONA-mSpikes, the one or more polypeptides or proteins, the one or more nucleic acids and/or the vaccine composition according to the present invention for use in the prevention and/or treatment of diseases caused by coronaviruses in a subject. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for designing and/or obtaining an active ingredient for a vaccine composition and to a VIRUS-mRBD or a fragment thereof designed and/or obtained by the method for obtaining the VIRUS-mRBD according to the present invention.
