Zusammenfassung:Embodiments of the invention include an optical fiber ribbon. The optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibers arranged adjacent to one another in a linear array. The optical fiber ribbon also includes a bonding matrix material applied to at least a portion of the outer surface of at least two adjacent optical fibers. The optical fiber ribbon also includes at least one marking applied to the outer surface of at least one optical fiber. The at least one marking is applied to the outer surface of at least one optical fiber in a manner that reduces the optical transmission loss of the optical fibers.
