Zusammenfassung:	According to the present invention, a novel exhaust gas purifying catalyst with HC and CO purification performance improved in a rich atmosphere is provided. The exhaust gas purifying catalyst disclosed herein includes a base material, a catalyst layer provided on the base material, and a reforming reaction layer provided on the base material. The catalyst layer includes a three-way catalyst. The reforming reaction layer includes a hydrogen generation catalyst. The reforming reaction layer is disposed at a position on a downstream side in a flowing direction of an exhaust gas relative to the catalyst layer.
