The retaining plate has a central portion, a plurality of arms, and a plurality of attachment portions. A coupling member is attached to each of the plurality of attachment portions, so that a tightening load is applied to the cell stack body by an elastic deformation of the plurality of arms. A first dimension which is the thickness of the attachment portions in the stacking direction is smaller than a second dimension which is the thickness of the central portion in the stacking direction.
