Zusammenfassung:	A multilayered tether link for a vehicle tether (12). The tether includes a tether belt material sinuously folded about at least one wedge portion (24a. 24b). The wedge portion has a flat portion (32) and a widened end portion (30). After folding the belt material around the at least one wedge the combination is sewn together and a hole (28) drilled through the center for attachment to a vehicle part such as a liftgate.
