Zusammenfassung:	The present invention more appropriately manages maintenance executed on an inkjet head. A printing device that performs printing through an inkjet method includes an inkjet head, a sub-tank 202, an ink amount detection unit, and a maintenance determination unit (maintenance controller). When the amount of ink in the sub-tank 202 is equal to or larger than a first threshold, the maintenance determination unit permits purge, which is an example of a normal maintenance, as maintenance to be executed on the inkjet head to which ink is supplied from the sub-tank 202. When the amount of ink in the sub-tank 202 is less than the first threshold, the maintenance determination unit prohibits purge and permits flushing, which is an example of low-consumption maintenance, as maintenance to be executed on the inkjet head to which ink is supplied from the sub-tank 202.
