Disclosed is a sanitary article including a topsheet, backsheet, acquisition layer and absorbent core arranged between the topsheet, the backsheet and the acquisition layer being arranged between the topsheet and the absorbent core, an extension in a longitudinal direction about a longitudinal centerline and in a transverse direction, a first and a second longitudinal side edge extending in the longitudinal direction and a front and a rear transverse side edge extending in the transverse direction, a frontmost half and in a rearmost half, as seen in the longitudinal direction, the absorbent core including a low-density rear shaping element having a lower density than an adjacent region of the absorbent core, the low-density rear shaping element including shaping element first and second leg sections, the rearmost half of the sanitary article furthermore including a V-shaped or modified V-shaped rear embossed element including a-first and second embossed leg sections.
