HANDHELD GYNECOLOGICAL DEVICE, HANDLE AND ROD MEMBER

The present invention relates to a handheld gynecological apparatus (10; 110; 210) for cervix handling, comprising a body member (12; 112; 212) having a proximal end (18) and a distal end (20), a rod member (26) having a proximal end (32) and a distal end (34), the rod member (26) defining a lumen (30) and being configured to be fluidly connected to the distal end (20) of the body member (12), a suction head having an engaging portion configured to engage at least a portion of a cervix of a patient, the suction head being fluidly connected to the distal end (34) of the rod member (26) and having a cross-section that is larger than a cross-section of the rod member (26); and a vacuum generating mechanism configured to generate a vacuum within at least a portion of the gynecological apparatus (10; 110; 210). A first member and at least one second member of the gynecological apparatus (10; 110; 210) are connectable to each other by a quick release coupling (60; 160) configured for manually coupling and uncoupling the first member and the second member to each other. The first member is the rod member (26) and the second member is one of the body member (12) and the suction head. The present invention also relates to a handle and a rod member for a handheld gynecological apparatus.
