The cleaning mechanism includes a web that abuts against the transport belt and wipes off the liquid on the transport belt, and a driving section that changes a wiping surface of the web that abuts against the transport belt. The control section performs a first operation of changing the wiping surface of the web that abuts against the transport belt a predetermined number of times within a cleaning period for cleaning the transport belt.
