A surgical tool may be oriented by a robotic arm in one direction along a first trajectory to remove a first portion of the anatomical element. The surgical tool may be oriented in at least one direction along a second trajectory to remove a second portion of the anatomical element to form a custom shaped cavity in the anatomical element.
