In the method, output torque of a mowing motor during working of the intelligent lawn mower is detected, a wheel rotation speed of the intelligent lawn mower is reduced in response to the output torque reaches a first set threshold, and the intelligent lawn mower is controlled to operate based on the reduced wheel rotation speed.
