One embodiment of the invention is a method for managing greenhouse gas emissions, wherein information regarding energy usage is determined based on input information by a business terminal, greenhouse gas emissions are calculated based on the information regarding usage, information regarding credits to offset the obtained greenhouse gas and record the information about the credits in a blockchain.
