Precisely, the disclosure recites a method comprising receiving, at an MABR client device, a manifest request from an ABR player, wherein the manifest request is initially redirected to the MABR client device by a rendezvous service upon updating the manifest request with a channel ID and an upstream CDN base information. The method further recites translating, by the MABR client device, the manifest request with a representation ID and obtaining a stream ID from the translated manifest request. The method further discloses performing look up in a cache for media content, requested in the translated manifest request, using the obtained stream ID.
