Zusammenfassung:A cathode for an electrochemical cell, wherein the cathode comprises a composite material comprising: i. electrochemically active selenium, or a mixture of electrochemically active selenium and electrochemically active sulfur; and ii. an electronically conductive carbon material having an average pore volume of 1.5-10 cm3 g−1 and an average pore diameter of less than 10 nm, for example an average pore volume of 1.5-2 cm3 g−1 and an average pore diameter of 1 nm to 3 nm.
