The light module comprises a light source (15) for emitting light from the luminaire (1) and wherein the light module (5) is accommodated at least partly within the luminaire housing (3). The communication module (7) is configured for wireless transmitting and/or receiving communication signals which are unrelated to the 5 lighting function of the luminaire and/or to the operation of the light module. The communication module (7) is accommodated within the luminaire housing (3).
