Zusammenfassung:	A belt sander has an electric motor, a housing including a motor housing part, belt driving part, first handle and battery mounting part. Where a direction in which a rotational axis of the drive roller and the driven roller extend is a left-right direction, a direction wherein the rollers are arranged in parallel is a front-rear direction, and a direction orthogonal to the left-right and front-rear directions is an up-down direction, the belt driving part is below the motor, and a polishing surface is defined by a lower surface of the sanding belt. The battery mounting part is configured so a battery can be mounted and removed by being slid in a sliding direction. The mounting part overlaps with the polishing surface viewed from above and overlaps with the motor viewed from the front. The sliding direction of the battery is a horizontal direction including the front-rear and left-right directions.
