Zusammenfassung:	Provided are compositions and methods for polynucleotides and vectors encoding novel chimeric receptor systems. The Gated Adaptor Targeting Receptor (GATR) system employs a dual adaptor system: a first, targeting adaptor and a second, gating adaptor. The targeting adaptor bispecifically binds both the target cell and the gating adaptor, while an engineered cell expressing the chimeric receptor binds the gating adaptor. This targets the engineered cells to an antigen recognized by the targeting adaptor thereby activating the engineered cells and leading to the desired physiological effect.
