Provided are an image processing apparatus, a method, a program, and a recording medium capable of appropriately selecting images for product creation from an image group provided by a user for every period.In an image processing apparatus of the present invention, a processor is configured to acquire a first image group captured in a first period, acquire a second image group captured in a second period different from the first period, specify features on two or more items regarding imaging for first images used in product creation in the first image group and second images included in the second image group, specify a trend of features of the first images used in product creation for the two or more items, and select second images for product creation from the second image group based on features of the second images included in the second image group. The processor is configured to select the second images having a feature inconsistent with the trend for a part of items among the two or more items, as the second images for product creation.
