Particles on the surface of which multiple copies of each of multiple DNA oligonucleotide species are covalently attached are also disclosed. Further, the present invention provides methods for enriching or depleting one or more species of nucleic acid molecules in/from a sample, including in/from partially isolated nucleic acids, isolated nucleic acids, biological samples, crude tissue lysates, cleared tissue lysates, crude cell lysates, cleared cell lysates, and processed and amplified nucleic acid sequencing libraries.
