The lighting apparatus of the present invention includes: an LED package; a light guide plate, which includes a main surface serving as a light emission surface, and a side surface serving as a light entrance surface, and which is arranged so that the side surface is opposed to the LED package; and a low-refractive index layer arranged between the LED package and the light guide plate.
