Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure discloses an additive for preparing modified bitumen comprising a) sulphur with a weight percentage in the range of 90-95% with respect to the additive; b) at least two H2S suppressants with a combined weight percentage in the range of 4-7% with respect to the additive; c) bitumen with a weight percentage in the range of 0.5-3% with respect to the additive; and d) at least one smell masking agent in the range of 0.05-1.0% with respect to the additive. The present disclosure provides a convenient process for the preparation of the additive. The present disclosure also reveals a sulphur modified bitumen and a process for preparing the sulphur modified bitumen.
