Zusammenfassung:	A hermetically sealed battery which is an example of an embodiment is provided with: an electrode body having an electrode tab; an outer can in the shape of a bottomed cylinder for accommodating the electrode body; and a sealing body for closing an opening portion of the outer can. The sealing body includes: a first thin-walled portion formed in an annular shape; a valve portion which surrounds the first thin-walled portion, and which deforms in such a way as to protrude to the outside of the battery when the internal pressure in the battery rises; and a linear second thin-walled portion formed in the valve portion. The electrode tab is disposed in such a way as to intersect the second thin-walled portion, and is joined to an inner surface of the valve portion in such a way as to sandwich the second thin-walled portion.
