Zusammenfassung:	A food slicing device is disclosed. The food slicing device comprises a body configured to contain at least one food item and a lid having a protecting member. The body has a plurality of recesses defined within the body that are configured to receive a cutting blade of a knife or the like. The lid is hingedly attached to the body and is configured to move between a first position where the lid at least partially covers a top opening of the body, and a second position wherein the lid does not cover the top opening of the body.
