Zusammenfassung:	The present disclosure relates to an imaging device, a control method, and a program that make it possible to cope with various cases in which a plurality of communication standards is assumed to be mixed. A communication unit performs communication according to a first communication standard and a second communication standard. A communication compatibility processing unit performs communication compatibility processing necessary for maintaining communication compatibility in a case where an imaging system is assumed, the imaging system mixedly including a first external flash supporting only the first communication standard and a second external flash supporting both the first communication standard and the second communication standard. The present technology can be applied to, for example, an imaging system including an imaging device and an external flash.
