Zusammenfassung:An electrode for an argon plasma surgical instrument. The electrode has a heat dissipation device in the form of a single- or multi-layer coating. The coating may have a greater electrical conductivity and also a greater thermal conductivity than that of the material of the electrode main body. The coating may also have a melting temperature less than that of the material of the electrode main body. The melting temperature of the coating may be below 1100° C. If the coating is multi-layered, the melting temperature of the outer surface layer may also be below 1100° C., and preferably below 1000° C.
