The artificial intelligence server, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a communication unit for communicating with a terminal of a user; and a processor for receiving, from the terminal, a video capturing a home appliance, acquiring a first characteristics vector by inputting image data separated from the video into an image categorization model, acquiring a second characteristics vector by inputting sound data separated from the video into a voice categorization model, acquiring a result value by inputting, into an abnormality categorization model, a data set derived by combining the first characteristics vector with the second characteristics vector, and transmitting, to the terminal, a malfunction type acquired on the basis of the result value.
