Products can be produced via a co-culture of axenic source strains grown on simple gas feedstocks, such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen and oxygen, as can be provided by industrial waste gases. A consortium of bacterial strains specially selected for this purpose is cultured in an aqueous culture medium.
