Zusammenfassung:	A display panel and a liquid crystal display device are disclosed. The display panel includes an array substrate, a color filter substrate, an alignment film, a liquid crystal layer, and at least a bank portion. The bank portion is disposed on a peripheral region of the display area, and includes at least a first platform and at least a second platform. An edge of the alignment film adjoins the bank portion, and the first platform has a thickness different than a thickness of the second platform. By disposing the bank portion on the display panel, thicknesses of the alignment film in middle and peripheral areas of the display panel are substantially the same, and non-uniform brightness of the peripheral areas of the display area can be prevented.
