Zusammenfassung:An image forming apparatus includes a liquid applier, a heating device, and circuitry. The liquid applied is configured to apply liquid to a conveyance target object that is conveyed at a first speed. The heating device is configured to heat the conveyance target object on which the liquid is applied. The circuitry is configured to control a conveying speed of the conveyance target object. The circuitry is configured to cause the conveyance target object to be conveyed at a second speed that is faster than the first speed after the liquid applier applies the liquid to the conveyance target object.
