Zusammenfassung:	The invention provides an image capturing apparatus including a terminal for input from an external device of a timecode signal synchronized with video frames, where the apparatus comprises a first synchronizing unit which executes synchronization with a timecode superimposed on the timecode signal input into the terminal, a second synchronizing unit which executes synchronization with horizontal and vertical synchronizing phases of the timecode signal and executes synchronization with the timecode superimposed on the timecode signal, and a control unit which executes synchronization processing by the first synchronizing unit or the second synchronizing unit in a case where a timecode signal input into the terminal is detected.
