Zusammenfassung:	Dioxetane compounds can be used in the detection of presence or absence, quantification and identification of microorganisms including bacteria, bacterial fragments (e.g., LPS, endotoxin), viruses, fungi as well as other pathogens by means of chemiluminescence and to corresponding methods. A method for the detection of a target analyte, a target microorganism or a target metabolite includes providing a medium including one or more target analytes, target microorganisms or target metabolites, adding a dioxetane compound to the medium so that the compound emits light, and detecting the emitted light.
