The lens can have a front surface and a rear surface. The high transmittance eyewear can further include a transmittance enhancement layer disposed over the front surface of the lens. The high transmittance eyewear that includes the transmittance enhancement layer and the chroma enhancement filter can provide a high optical transparency (e.g., a high optical transmittance) for the wearer for an indoor or a driving use while maintaining a chroma enhancement capability provided by the chroma enhancement filter.
