DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SYNCHRONOUS BINAURAL VESTIBULAR NERVE STIMULATION

Methods, systems and devices are provided for synchronous, binaural vestibular stimulation with two linked vestibular stimulators positioned on or around a subject's left and right mastoid processes and synchronized to deliver vestibular stimulation simultaneously to each of a patient's vestibular nerves. Each vestibular stimulator contains both an anode and cathode in order to create a localized, circular flow of current at each stimulation site to provide a localized, circular flow of current at each of the subject's mastoid processes and adjacent vestibular nerves. By communicating between the vestibular stimulators-either via a wired or wireless connection-the vestibular stimulation can be provided simultaneously at each site, eliminating the rocking sensation that results from delivering stimulation across a patient's head from the cathode on one side of the head to the anode on the opposing side of the head.
